Brewery Sales Representative

The Glass Jug is currently accepting applications for a part-time sales representative. If interested in a full-time position, please inquire about the possibility of adding additional duties, such as bartending. We are willing to create a unique position for the right candidate.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Primarily responsible for selling 15 to 20 bbls of kegged and canned beer each month through a network of about 40-60 existing wholesale accounts in the Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Apex, and Morrisville areas.

  • Make in-person visits to prospect and existing accounts each week.

  • Meeting sales goals of maintaining/increasing distribution and introducing Glass Jug beer to targeted new accounts in our area.

  • Sales will be conducted via email, phone/text, and in-person visits to our accounts.

  • Using Ekos and Fintech software to create invoices, accurately track product availability, keep account information up-to-date, and add new accounts and contacts.

  • Work closely with the production team to keep up with new product offerings and inventory through a weekly meeting

  • Represent The Glass Jug at events, festivals, and other tastings throughout the year, pouring samples and talking to accounts and end consumers about our beer.

  • Deliver beer twice a month for increased account contact and relationship-building

  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Age: 21 or older

  • Proven ability to work in an organized and self-motivated role, both as an individual go-getter and as a team player

  • Positive outlook on life and ability to build a good vibe, even in stressful situations

  • People-person who thrives when engaging with others

  • Flexible schedule (occasional evenings and weekends required)

  • Ability to lift 60 pounds unassisted and 150 lbs with assistance, and to stand for extended periods of time

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and access to reliable transportation

  • Pass a background check (Please let us know if you anticipate things popping up that you’d like to give us context to better understand. We’re reasonable people who believe in second chances.)

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE THAT WOULD BE HELPFUL IN THIS ROLE:

  • Previous sales and/or craft beer industry experience

  • Familiarity with invoicing and inventory management systems such as Ekos, Fintech, or other similar systems

  • Knowledge of craft beer, the NC craft beer industry, and the local bar, restaurant, and bottle shop scene.

  • Cicerone Certified Beer Server certification

SCHEDULE:

  • Total time to succeed in this role is approximately 20-25 hours/week, with some variance week-to-week.

  • Approximately 15 of those ours hours will be spent doing sales via email, phone/text, and visiting accounts. Typically weekday daytime hours.

  • Representing The Glass Jug at tastings, festivals, and events 1-2 times per month (varies seasonally), typically on nights and weekends

  • Deliver products to accounts ~twice per month. About 6 hours every other Friday.

  • Flexible schedule that can work around your needs, so long as sales goals are being met
