Hops & Blues Returns for 2nd Installment

Last year, The Glass Jug put on the first-ever Hops & Blues festival in Durham, an event showcasing hoppy beer and blues music. Now, we’re bringing it back for another installment on May 2, 2020!

Hops & Blues is a partnership with Music Maker Relief Foundation, which helps elderly and impoverished musicians throughout the South meet their needs and gain recognition for their often-overlooked important contributions to our shared cultural heritage.

The 2020 edition of the festival will feature 15 amazing breweries (up from 10 in 2019) who are producing some of the most sought-after hop-forward beers. They’ll each be pouring two different hop-centric beers of various styles - hazy IPAs, west coast IPAs, and other styles that accentuate the hops in the beer.

The list includes some breweries who are rarely spotted in NC, like Triple Crossing, Aslin, and BenchTop, all from Virginia, as well as some NC favorites from the mountains to the coast, including Wilmington Brewing, New Anthem, Burial, and Resident Culture. Check out the full list on the Eventbrite ticket page!

The music lineup features two extremely talented blues musicians and their accompanying bands. Tad Walters will open things up, then we will have two sets performed by Thomas Rhyant Jr. Both musicians are part of the Music Maker portfolio.

Food at the event will again be provided by Cockadoodlemoo, one of the best BBQ trucks in the Triangle. Food is not included in the ticket price, but will be available a la carte.

This year, tickets will be limited to 300 attendees (up from 250 last year). The $40 general admission ticket gives access to four hours of live music and unlimited samples from all 15 breweries. $15 music-only/designated driver tickets are also available. Attendees with these tickets will not be allowed to purchase any alcohol at the festival or inside at the bar. Tickets must be purchased online and in advance and will likely sell out.

Tickets can be purchased through Eventbrite below:
